Client Profile: A tier-1 automotive accessories brand retailing across major supermarkets and automotive stores in North America. 


The Challenge: The client’s flagship heavy-duty automotive emergency jump starter was suffering from rising BOM costs and intermittent field failures due to low-tier component sourcing (specifically relays and MOS tubes melting under high-rate peak cranking currents). They needed an urgent product re-engineering solution that could lower costs while drastically improving field durability.


Our Solution: Our R&D center initiated a comprehensive product optimization process. We re-designed their internal control circuit and fully upgraded the core silicon matrix, integrating top-tier industrial-grade MOSFETs and our high-precision automated relays natively. By leveraging our massive direct component supply chain and in-house customized wire harness lines, we completely eliminated middleman markups on the underlying components.


The Result: The newly optimized jump starter achieved a 20% reduction in overall BOM costs. More importantly, the peak current handling increased from 1500A to a highly stable 2500A, driving down the client's retail return and defect rate from 3.2% to less than 0.15%.
