Deep ODM Customization for a Modular Portable Power Station (Japan)

Client Profile: A premium outdoor lifestyle brand specializing in high-end camping gear and disaster-preparedness supplies in Tokyo, Japan.

The Challenge: The Japanese market demands an exceptionally high aesthetic design, flawless structural safety, and ultra-compact footprints for portable power stations. The client wanted to launch a customized 1000W portable power supply with a unique, minimalist industrial design (ID) that featured bi-directional fast charging and a highly sensitive Japanese AC outlet configuration.

Our Solution: We undertook a complete ODM full-solution development project from scratch. Our industrial design team crafted a rugged yet elegant, fire-retardant outer shell with integrated ergonomic handle placement. Our engineering department developed a customized bi-directional inverter board utilizing advanced PMIC chips and ultra-reliable multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCC), eliminating the bulky external charging brick. We integrated a localized 110V/60Hz Japanese AC inverter path and passed rigorous safety certifications, including PSE and UN38.3.

The Result: The product was launched seamlessly within 6 months. It became an instant bestseller on Japanese crowdfunding platforms and premium outdoor retail stores, positioning our client as a premier innovator in the portable power space.
